Lasithi is located on the eastern side of Crete and is the least tourist region of the island. Worth going is the palm beach of Vai, one of the most famous beaches in Crete. If you happen to be in Agios Nikolaos or in Elounda, the major towns of Lasithi, you could sail out and visit Spinalonga, a popular attraction to learn the history of one of the last active leper colonies in Europe. Another interesting activity to do is take a boat trip from Ierapetra and spend a day to discover the stunning island of Chrissi.
