Explore Lasithi, the least visited but stunning area situated on the eastern coast of Crete. It is surrounded by the Cretan Sea in the north, the Carpathian Sea in the east, and the Libyan Sea in the south, consisting of four provinces: Mirabelo, Lassithi, Ierapetra, and Sitia. While Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Sitia, and Ierapetra are well-known locations, the rest of the region remains authentic and free of mass tourism. Make sure to visit the breathtaking Vai beach, famous for its palm grove and crystal clear water. Relax in the calm surroundings and enjoy the stunningly pure seawater.

Experience the fascinating historic settlements on the Lassithi plateau, where regional customs and a relaxed pace of life are still maintained. Rent a car and take a scenic drive to explore historic buildings and castles from the Middle Ages, including Spinalonga Island and the Zakros Minoan palace, the largest collection of preserved windmills on Crete. The area's most recognizable feature is Lasithi, located near the northern entrance of the Lassithi plateau. Today, 24 windmills are still standing out of the original 26, seven of which are located to the south of the plateau's road and the rest to the north. All of the mills are one-sided windmills, grinding in the same direction as the wind in a fixed location. Start your adventure and explore Lasithi's beauty and rich history.
