How To Get There
Agios Nikolaos is the main city of Lasithi and is very easy to reach. Whether you arrive at Heraklion port or the airport, you can easily reach Agios Nikolaos by bus, taxi, car, or private transfer, and the journey lasts about 50 minutes. One of the most economical ways to travel from Heraklion to Agios Nikolaos is via bus. It departs from KTEL Bus Station A in Heraklion, which is near the port. The buses pass through stops at locations including Kokkini Hani, Gouves, Hersonissos, Malia, and Neapoli, leaving every one to two hours and reaching the Central Station C (near the hospital, on the way into Agios Nikolaos if you are coming from the direction of Heraklion). The service is reasonably priced and dependable. The cost of a one-way ticket for the Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos route is about €9.
