How To Get There

If you are driving by car from Heraklion Airport, you will notice signs directing you to Agios Nikolaos; keep going in that direction.
Make a right turn toward Ierapetra at the first traffic light or sign you see, which is on the outskirts of Agios Nikolaos. Continue straight as you enter Ierapetra until you get to a traffic light or sign telling you to turn left toward Makrys Gialos.
It takes roughly half an hour to drive from Ierapetra to Makrigialos.
Another option is traveling by bus to Ierapetra, either from Heraklion or Agios Nikolaos. From there, travel to Makrys Gialos by taxi or another bus. It will take roughly two hours to complete this trip. For information and timetables, check the official KTEL website here.
