Zakynthos or Zante is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea and the third largest. It is world famous for the crystal beaches and the intense nightlife, which makes it a popular destination for the youth. Navagio is the most famous beach of Zakynthos island, with the golden sand and the exotic blue water. A must to do is the boat trip to Navagio and the Blue Cave during your stay on the island. Wonderful crystal blue clear beaches to enjoy your swim. Zakynthos Town is the main town on the island, with interesting museums and a Venetian Castle on top of the hill above. Nice mountainous villages as well as old monasteries.
Local products of the island include honey, olive oil, currants, ladotiri cheese and their local wines. Zakynthos is famous for its mandolato and pasteli which are bars made with caramelized sesame seeds and honey.

How to get there

   Ferries - You can easily reach Zakynthos from the port of Killini on the western side of Peloponnese, within an one-hour trip. During summer, you can also reach Kefalonia from Zakynthos within one hour and a half. These ferries depart from Pessada port and reach the port of Schinari. Flights - Zakynthos International Airport "Dionysios Solomos" receives domestic flights from Athens and Kefalonia all year round.
