Ionian Islands
The Ionian islands are very popular islands in Greece. Located on the western side of the country, historically and culturally these islands are strongly connected to Italy. The architecture of the capital towns, including Corfu Town, Zakynthos Town and Argostoli, have a Venetian style architecture as these islands were occupied by the Venetians in the Medieval times. Famous for their beautiful beaches and the lush greenery, they are ideal spots for all families and friends or couples. Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada are the most popular holiday islands there are also few other secluded islands.
