Piraeus Museums - The Naval Museum in Piraeus, Greece was established in 1949 and boasts a nine-room building filled with exhibits dating back to prehistoric times. This fascinating museum showcases an array of nautical instruments, ancient and modern ship models, maps, flags, medals, and weaponry. As a bonus, the museum also displays stunning artworks, including paintings of seascapes crafted by Greece's most renowned painters from the 19th and 20th centuries. Its exhibits aim to offer visitors an in-depth and rich understanding of the long and illustrious history of Greece's naval prowess. Captain Zoziosom first proposed the idea of creating this museum back in 1867, but it wasn't until 1949 that the idea finally came to fruition, based on the captain's collection. The museum's exhibitions brilliantly demonstrate the development of naval affairs from prehistoric times to the present day.
