Kefalonia Museums - The Iakovatios Library in Kefalonia, Greece is a historic landmark located in Lixouri. Originally belonging to the Typaldi-Iakovatios family, this library was built prior to the earthquakes. In 1984, the Iakovatios Library underwent restoration and organization efforts. Today, visitors can explore its 14 wood-panelled rooms, each housing some of the library's 20,000 books. Of these, one-fifth date back to the 16th-19th centuries. Notably, 7,000 of the books belonged to the Iakovatios family, while 5,000 were once owned by a theology professor named Alivizatos. For book lovers, the most valuable text in this collection is The Complete Works of Hippocrates, published in 1595.
