Samos Churches & Monasteries - The Agia Zoni Monastery in Samos, Greece is situated in the lush valley of Vlamari, just two kilometers away from Samos Town. Initially constructed in 1695 by a group of monks, the monastery underwent expansion in the 18th and 19th centuries. High walls were erected around it to defend against pirate invasions. This historic site boasts an intriguing library featuring valuable patriarchal documents and precious vessels. Additionally, the monastery celebrates the Feast Day of its patron saint on August 31st.
