Naxos Churches - The Panagia Kera Church in Naxos, Greece is a stunning example of Byzantine architecture from the ninth century. Located near Loiri and about 1.5 kilometres southwest of Atsipapi, this church boasts an unusual transitional cruciform design with a dome. The northern corner cupolas feature horizontal slates, while arched walls supported by rectangular pillars uphold the dome.
Inside, visitors can view an episcopal throne and Byzantine paintings hidden behind the whitewashed walls. The western side of the church features a beautifully constructed portico.
