Andros Churches - The Panagia Thalassini Church in Andros, Greece stands proudly on a rock at the island's entrance. Legend has it that the Virgin Thalassini, along with Saint Nicholas, watches over those travelling by sea. In hagiography, it is customary for Mother Mary to don a red jacket outside, symbolizing her human nature, and a blue or dark green jacket inside, signifying her connection to the birth of Christ. However, the Virgin of Seafood is often depicted wearing blue garments.
