Agios Nektarios Monastery in Aegina, Greece
The Monastery of Agios Nektarios is the most important religious monument of Aegina, and one of the largest in Greece. It was founded by the bishop himself in 1904. He began to build the monastery with the intention of housing nuns from an older monastery of Zoodoschos Pigi. Today Agios Nekatarios Monastery in Aegina is a place for worship for locals and others around Greece. The traditional celebration in honor of the saint is held on the 9th of November.
