This temple is the most famous site of Aegina. It was built around 420 BC and is situated on top of a rock overlooking the deep blue Aegean. Dedicated to the goddess of Athena, it is one truly masterpiece of Ancient Greece. There is a museum next to the temple that displays interesting findings of the temple of Aphaia. When the atmosphere is clear, you can see the Acropolis of Athens and the Temple of Poseidon of Sounio.
