How To Get There

The distance between Akrotiri and Fira is about ten kilometers. You may reach there with a car rental, but many travel with a local bus. Throughout the week, there are frequent buses from Fira, the island's main bus station located at the Theotokopoulos square, to the village of Akrotiri and the parking lot near Akrotiri Red Beach. It costs 1.8 euros to the village and 2 euros to the ancient site. You can pay cash to the bus's conductor or driver for the ticket.
