How To Get There

The closest airport and the primary airport for the island of Crete is Heraklion International Airport "Nikos Kazantzakis" (HER), which is around 39.2 kilometers (24.35 miles) southeast of Anogia. Due to its close proximity to Heraklion, the island's capital, it is the most convenient airport for tourists visiting Anogia Village. To get to Anogia, visitors can rent a car or take a private transfer from the airport, hotel, or any other place, and drive through the breathtaking Cretan countryside at their own pace. 
Buses are a well-liked and frequently used way to get to Anogia in Crete. In order to catch a bus to the village, proceed to the Hanioporta bus station, which is situated at the start of 62 Martyrs Street, near the old city walls. From there, the green bus to Anogia departs numerous times every day. It costs about €2.90 and takes about an hour to get there. To get to Hanioporta, take the blue bus from the Heraklion airport.
