Nysiros is one of the most beautiful islands of the Dodecanese. It is situated between the islands Kos, Tilos and Astypalea. It is well known of the volcano, the youngest of the Aegean and still active. Tourism is undeveloped therefore it is an ideal island for those who seek quiet and relaxing holidays. Nisyros also has some picturesque little villages and few clean and peaceful beaches. The capital and harbor of Nysiros is Mandraki where you can explore the areas center activities.
Local products of the island include honey, krasotiri and trigias chesses and a non alcoholic drink from almond called soumada.

How to get there

   Ferries - There is a  route from Piraeus Port in Athens to Nysiros 2 times a week with stops and last 17 hours. If you are in Athens you could fly to Rhodes or Kos and sail to Nysiros with ferry.
