Limnos is a part of the Eastern Aegean Islands and it lies between Lesvos and Thasos. It is more a rocky and mountainous island, has no forest, it is filled with vineyards and cereals. It has wonderful  clean beaches where some  of them are perfect for windsurfing. The capital of the island is Myrina. Myrina and Plati are more touristic little resorts where is a great place for privacy and relaxation. There are many sights to visit on the island including the Ancient Kavirio, the Cave of Philoctetes, a legendary hero who was abandoned there on his way to Troy. Also to see is  the Medieval Castle of Myrina. There are facilities you need accommodation, shops, taverns and cafes. Limnos is a very promising destination.
Local products of Limnos  include Limnian wine, kalathaki cheese and thyme honey.
The main regions of the island are Moudros, Myrina, Plati.

How to get  there

   Ferries - There are more frequent routes form Lavrio Port in Athens three times a week to Limnos rather than from Port Piraeus. Book online your ferry ticket to Limnos!

 

Flights - Limnos National Airport receives domestic flights from Athens, Thessaloniki, Ikaria, Chios, Lesvos, Rhodes and Samos. The airport is about 22 km away from Myrina, the capital of Limnos.
