Situated on the western side of the island lies Sigri, a quaint fishing village renowned for its Petrified Forest which came about due to vigorous volcanic activity in the Aegean ages ago. This locale also features an enchanting harbor adjacent to a 17th-century Turkish castle. Exploring Sigri in Lesvos will reveal numerous awe-inspiring churches and tranquil beaches that boast seclusion, aside from the primary beach nestled near the port - perfect for those looking to unwind. In terms of refreshments, there are just a handful of cafes and taverns available.
