Ferry routes to Vathy port in Ithaca are carried out from Kefalonia and Lefkada. The best way for transportation from Vathy port to reach your destination easily is by taxi, car rental, or scooter. However, there is a bus service from Vathy's main bus station located very close to the central square of the town. Every day, buses depart between Vathy and the island's northern region. There is a twice daily island bus from Vathy to Stavros, Frikes and Kioni that leaves Vathy at 6.15am and 11am and leaves Kioni at 7.15am and 2.30pm.
