How To Get There

The ease with which you can get from Heraklion or airport to Hersonissos will amaze you if you choose to tour the island with a Crete car rental or private transfer. If you are traveling by bus, the journey will take longer. Travel time from Heraklion's airport to Hersonissos is approximately forty-five minutes (it may take an hour during rush hour or in heavy traffic). If you are arriving in Heraklion, take the KTEL bus service, which is also referred to as the blue bus outside the airport. The bus leaves the bus stop every ten minutes. In order to catch a bus on time, you don't need to run to the bus stop. You may take the blue bus from the Heraklion airport terminal to the Heraklion KTEL Station A, which is close to the port, in 20 minutes.  From there the bus will take you to Hersonissos. For information and timetables, check the official KTEL website here.
