Amorgos is a beautiful island of the Cyclades with its whitewashed houses, fabulous beaches, mysterious caves and stunning sunsets. The capital is Hora which has an authentic atmosphere with whitewashed houses, stone windmills and narrow alleys. Also you find impressive churches and little taverns. The popular spot of Hora is the square of Loza dominated from the Venetian Castle. Other important sights of Amorgos are the Monastery of Hozoviotissa, built on a rocky mountain, the Minoan Sight and the Sea Caves. Local products of the island include different cheeses (ladotiri, xino, skliro), kserotigana which are fried pies and rakolelo, an alcoholic local beverage.
